Individual sessions

A  Diabetes Education session:

Initial appointment $110 .00 (1 hour)

Follow up appointments $60 for 30 minute follow up or $160 for 1.5-2 hours

 

Group education sessions (excluding pump starts, pump upgrades and cgm education)

A group Diabetes Education Session: $80.00 (1 hour)

Pump Start Package: $300

This package includes 3 appointments to get you started on your pump.  You will need to be in touch with your endocrinologist regularly for a few months to get the best out of your pump start.  Between appointments we will organise all  paperwork,  talk with your chosen pump company and health fund to  get your pump to you

Appointment schedule:

Appointment 1 – 45 minutes : Pre pump appointment- discuss expectations and pre pump start learning tasks
Appointment 2 –120 minutes: Pump start- pump set up and pump education
Appointment 3  – 60 minutes: Pump follow up- questions and review, advanced features, check infusion set or set change.

 

Addition of  1 week of CGM can be arranged during these appointments with an added  $100 fee.

Pump Upgrade: $200

When you are ready to upgrade to your new pump from your current one, Coasties Diabetes can discuss all your options and show you  the pumps available to you. We will complete all the paperwork and talk with your health fund and chosen pump company to get your pump to you. Includes pump set up and education.

CGM can be added to to this package for $100 to help you get the most from your new pump.

Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) or (Flash)  Libre start: patients equipment: $250

You may chose to get CGM or Flash technology to help with your diabetes management.

Coasties Diabetes can discuss your options with you and help you decide what may work best. We will then help you with ordering and teach you to how to use your new technology. We will work closely with you to make sure you understand how everything works.

Note: if this is combined with a pump start or upgrade the cost is reduced to $150

Insulin Therapy Review Package: $200

CGM (1 week) or Libre (2 weeks) can help to review current therapy and help identify any times when changes can be made to improve your blood glucose levels. This package includes the loan of a  CGM or Libre  device and a free sensor.

Appointment schedule:

Appointment 1 –Includes appointment and application of chosen CGM/ Flash device

Appointment 2 –   Interpretation and explanation  of reports.

 

Medicare Rebates

With an Enhanced Primary Care Plan known as an EPC, which can be obtained from your GP , Medicare reimburses a portion of the diabetes educator’s fee.
This can be applied to all sessions except Gestational Diabetes (GDM) and pre-diabetes for which there is no medicare rebate.

Fees are payable at time of consult using cash, credit card or BPay.

We ask that you please give 24 hour notice of cancellation if you are unable to attend, as someone else can then attend this appointment.
